The Covid Hunter - instant non-contact covid-19 detection

The COVID Hunter™ is a handheld device that efficiently detects the virus SARS-CoV-2 which causes the disease COVID-19. The COVID Hunter™ can detect this virus without any contact or physical interaction with people or surfaces, and it does so in an instant! This makes COVID Hunter™ a very useful device for stamping out the Covid-19 virus, which has already caused about 4.55 million deaths worldwide, and sadly more people are still being killed by this terrible disease every day!

The COVID Hunter™ can also be used to monitor surfaces for the presence of SARS-CoV-19 without risk of contact, allowing for detection on large scales very quickly.

The website also says the widespread implementation of The COVID Hunter™ would allow rooms, restaurants, venues, vehicles, hospitals, hotels, schools, offices, and others to be scanned for SARS-CoV-2. Surfaces with the virus will be cleaned and retested to ensure the disinfectant was successful. Once areas are clean, persons and objects entering the area would be scanned to screen for the virus.

COVID Hunter™ is especially useful in schools, restaurants, big events, airports, and other places where large numbers of individuals are coming into close contact with one another, as the scanning can be done at the entrance of the venue and it will immediately detect who has covid and who doesn’t.

This device has been designed to detect and identify this dangerous virus with an accuracy of 99%. In addition, it is not really huge and easy to hold which makes it very portable and convenient to move around.

The COVID Hunter™ is a device that can easily scan any surface and detect covid-19, which will help stop people from getting infected by touching surfaces after someone with the virus has touched it.

The COVID Hunter™ is a product of Advanced Medical Solutions International (AMSI) which is a research and development firm based in West Palm Beach, Florida with almost 7 years in business. Through strong international partnerships, AMSI produces cutting-edge medical solutions to humanity’s greatest public health challenges including SARS-CoV-2, COPD, IVF, and diabetes.

AMSI anticipates bringing out for early 2022, what they call a similar tricorder-like handheld device that can detect SARS-CoV-2 in humans, contaminated surfaces, and objects.

Dr. Adeeb Al-Zoubi, at Stem Cells Arabia in Jordan, the sister company of AMSI, delivered a presentation on this groundbreaking technology that will transform the world in The Covid Hunter International Press conference on 26th January 2021.

Dr. Al-Zoubi said “This patent-pending technology uses a unique combination of light waves and sound waves combined to hone in on specific physical, chemical, and biological characteristics of SARS-CoV-2,”

Dr Al-Zoubi said they conducted nine months’ worth of research and development to create COVID Hunter™ prototypes, which demonstrated accuracy, specificity, and sensitivity in experiments using both nasal swab samples as well as confirmed patients suffering from CoViD -19 residing in quarantine areas and hospitals in different countries.

 “The handheld COVID Hunter™ will revolutionize the way SARS-CoV-2 (including mutated strains) is detected, slowing the spread of the deadly virus, saving lives, and returning life to ‘normal’ in the near future,” explains Donald Redman, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of AMSI.

Dr. Al-Zoubi noted in his press conference the following:

  • They performed two types of tests: testing of samples ( nasal swabs) and testing of humans ( those with covid as well as healthy individuals), and the results were outstanding
  • To demonstrate that The COVID Hunter™ detects specifically SARS-CoV-2 but not other viruses, they tested positive samples of ARS-CoV-2 and different viruses including influenza A, influenza B, HIV, and others. The COVID Hunter™ only detected the samples with the SARS-CoV-2 virus and none of the other viruses. This shows The COVID Hunter™ 100% specificity to detect only the SARS-CoV-2 positive samples
  • They tested more than 4000 swab samples and compared The COVID Hunter™ results with PCR results.
    • All PCR positive samples were detected by The COVID Hunter™ as positive. So it detected 100% of PCR results which shows its 100% accuracy.
    • 4.8% of PCR negative results were identified by The COVID Hunter™ as positive, indicating the superior sensitivity of The COVID Hunter™ over PCR
  • On humans test, they tested more than 1000 humans subjects with The COVID Hunter™.
    • All the covid-19 confirmed cases were detected by The COVID Hunter™as positive, showing 100% accuracy.
    • 4.7% PCR negative cases were detected as positive by The COVID Hunter™ again showing the superiority of The COVID Hunter™ on detecting people who are covid-19 positive.
  • 76 out 94 confirmed COVID-19 positive individuals were shown to be infective, meaning they could transmit the disease. The virus was detected in their cough, or sneeze, air exhaled from their mouth or nose and caught in a plastic bag or container. It was detected immediately by scanning the bag with The COVID Hunter™. This shows that The COVID Hunter™ can detect infective individuals or spreaders of the virus
  • 1000s of objects were scanned with The COVID Hunter™ for contamination of the virus, and contaminated objects were successfully detected and decontaminated.
  • The COVID Hunter™ was able to effectively detect how covid-19 is transmitted from one infected person is able to transmit the virus to a non-infected person. From the infected person coughing and shaking hands with another person with cleans hands who wasn’t infected, then the uninffected person touching the car door, phone; The COVID Hunter™ was able to track the transmission of the virus.
  • The COVID Hunter™ was able to detect the virus on the hands and feet of domestic pets, demonstrating how animals can be silent transmitters of the virus from person to person within the same household.

Dr. Al-Zoubi said in summary that their results show that The COVID Hunter™ can immediately and accurately detect SARS-CoV-2 inside and outside the human body with high reliability and ease of use.

He also concluded by saying “I am personally excited to see the COVID Hunter™ go from the prototype phase to a fully refined manufactured device that can be used to save lives around the world. This is the time to save lives and stop the spread of this pandemic and gain our lives back.”

Dr. Al-Zoubi said you can perform 1000s of scans per day and you will only need to change the battery, so no other consumables to use.

He said The COVID Hunter™ can easily perform up to 300 scans per hour, so one just needs about 5-10 seconds per object or person. This thus allows the scanning of a very large number of people daily.

Pricing:

There isn’t any fully confirmed pricing yet, but it was suggested that it could be up to $2000 per device.
